Frequently asked questions
Yes, we sure are!
Yes! We offer one complimentary meet and greet before your first pet care appointment. Any additional meet and greets after that are $25.
Our meet and greets give us the opportunity to get to know you and your pet(s), review routines, and go over important details. It also helps your pet become familiar with our team, so they feel comfortable and confident when services begin.
We want every experience with BarksNpurrs to be happy and stress-free for both you and your furry friend!
We require all clients with keys to have a lockbox! We are happy to supply a Barks N Purrs Lockbox for $30, or you are welcome to use your own. This not only ensures that your keys stay securely on your premises but also keeps the key on location for any last-minute emergencies.
We require 1-3 hour arrival windows for all appointments.
We always assign 2-3 walkers/sitters to each household. This is because people can get sick, emergencies can happen, or one of the sitters can be unavailable. You will meet one of these sitters during the meet and greet, but you can always request to meet the other sitters, too!

Yes! We charge a holiday fee for all major holidays. The holiday rate will be $30 added to each service on the following holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Christmas Day, and Thanksgiving Day.
We make sure to send all of our customers a report card after each pet care service. This includes details applicable to your service, such as a GPS route, photos, if your pet ate or drank, and assurance that we locked the door on our way out!
Unfortunately, we do not specialize in grooming older pets. To ensure their safety and comfort, we have a policy of not grooming pets over the age of 11. Your pet's well-being is the most important and we have found that the grooming/bathing process can be extra stressful for older pets. Our groomer suggests contacting your vet or finding a groomer specializing in grooming older pets!
We do require pets to have their rabies vaccination. We will need to see current rabies vaccination paperwork for your pets. If your pet cannot get a rabies vaccination we need to have a written note from the vet exempting your pet from the vaccination for medical reasons.
We will need to know your pet’s age, sex, weight, and breed as well as any health issues or behavior concerns. Please let us know if you give your pet tranquilizers or pain medicine before the grooming. Also, let us know of any of your concerns, whether related to the health of your pet or if they’ve had bad grooming experiences in the past, anything that may help us understand your pet better!
Full Grooming includes shampoo, conditioner, nail trim and grind, ear cleaning and flush, anal glands, brush and blowout, and full-body trim.
Bathing packages include a shampoo, conditioner, nail trim and grind, ear cleaning and flush, anal glands, brush and blowout.
For the first groom you do need to be home so we can discuss grooming needs and go over the services afterwards to make sure all your expectations are met. If you are a regular client we are happy to take care of your pets while you are otherwise occupied. All we require is access to your pet & house so we can return your pet safely after the groom.
We will give you an open window of 1 hour for arrival time. If we know that we will not be able to arrive within that window, we will call you. Please, make sure to take your dog out to use the restroom before we arrive!
In an attempt to give our clients the best service, we use only premium shampoos and conditioners that are designed specifically for pets. However, if you prefer that we use your pet shampoo, no problem! Just make sure to provide us with it.
On average, dogs should be groomed every 4-6 weeks. Of course, this depends on the owner’s ability to do daily brush-outs, your pet’s breed, coat, and how often your dog is outside. We recommend scheduling a recurring appointment to guarantee your furry friend always gets their grooming in.
Our grooming van is equipped with all new state-of-the-art equipment and climate-controlled with the most advanced grooming tools and technology available. The cleanliness and comfort of our van will ensure your dog will be treated like royalty. We will give your dog our undivided attention.
If you cancel 24 hours before your grooming or bath appointment, there will be no cancellation fee. If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment time or do not answer when our groomer arrives, there will be a full charge for the scheduled services.
To secure an appointment we require a $25 dollar deposit at the time of booking.

Unfortunately, we do not. We will update our site when we are accepting cats for grooming again! Sorry for the inconvenience!
No! However, all appointment locations MUST have available open parking.
If your location only has street parking available, we will look for an adequate spot for up to 20 minutes (there will be a $50 charge on top of the $25 deposit.) Please let us know if your location is prone to being busy or if parking becomes unavailable during certain hours. This information is needed for us to provide services to clients conveniently. It is also for both your pet’s safety and ours!
Some dogs may require more time and care while being groomed. We understand that each dog is different, from the condition of the fur to the temperament. This fee is for our groomers and the extra steps they take to ensure that your pup receives the best possible experience. We believe in the dog's welfare above the finish of the trim. Of course, a dog has to look good when walking away, but having a happy pup leave the salon is also very important!
Please refer to our services page to see our pricing!
We can only provide an estimate based on the size of your pup. The final price would depend on the size and condition of your pups when our groomer meets them.
